Meet the TEAM.

Meet our Rise & Roam Team.

🌟 Meet the Team – Garry Caswell

👤 Role at Rise & Roam:

Founder & head of operations. I love everything we do here at Rise & Roam, seeing all the guys weekly or fortnightly is great, and seeing guys sometimes wanting to push themselves and try out our challenge days is amazing! Seeing real brotherhood coming together is such a great reward for the space we are creating. Setting up the challenge days can be challenging, logistically especially but once started the events are always amazing!

💬 Describe yourself in three words:

Workaholic, Outdoorsy, and as I get too my the partner, Annoying.

What does “Rise & Roam” mean to you?

When coming up with Rise & Roam we wanted to create something where we can help elevate guys, help support guys getting back to the person they want to be, see we all struggle at some point, but supporting one another we can all become whoever we ant to be. So that was what “Rise” meant to me, then we other part was creating the Walk and Talk space, creating the Challenge Days these sorts of things gets us all outside, and together, taking on challenges and adventures and the idea of being out and roaming around gave me the “Roam” part of the name, and here is why we have Rise & Roam.

🤝 Why did you join the team?

I actually started Rise & Roam, I had to join that day! 🤣

🧠 Why is supporting men’s mental health important to you?

Unfortunately I have had a few friends take their lives, and that absolutely sucks! Honestly I want to try and make my friends feel like they always have someone to talk to, and a place to come along to. We encourage talking and being open.

🎁 If you could design your own Rise & Roam product, what would it be?

now I’ve actually designed a few products for the website, but a dream product would be something to use outside, like a tent and Campervan, but anything that gets you outside and enjoying life!

💭 Go‑to quote or mantra:

John Cena lyrics from the song “If it all ended tomorrow”

Live how I wanna live,

Buy what I wanna buy,

Do what I wanna do,

Try what I wanna try,

Fear nothing, Take chances,

Not afraid to fail, always making advances,

So when I ride on the grim reaper highway, no regrets b*tch, I did it my way.

The other thing is a great Matthew McConaughey thing, Where he says about his hero, and its himself in 5 years time, and being happy with that, and always knowing you’ll never be your hero as he always 5 years ahead of you, but you keep thriving to be that guy! 💙

🌱 What excites you most about the future of Rise & Roam?

Everything! Seeing how big the Walk and Talks have become is incredible, seeing how many lads want to come along and join us is great, and for so many different reasons. The challenges we have coming up and the fact they keep getting bigger is awesome!

One fun fact about you:

first fact is that i actually have ARFID, where I struggle to eat and try new foods, but its something I’m definitely working on. The other thing is that i absolutely love BMX, I don’t ride as much as I used to, but i could never stay away from it!

Describe yourself in three words: outside doing things!

What does “Rise & Roam” mean to you? A safe channel and a safe place for people to come together and share stories, feelings or whatever its building up inside, to make sure we all feel heard, validated and ultimately to feel that we are not alone and there is so much to live for.

Why did you join the Rise & Roam family?

To try and help others by using sports to send the message that being outdoors and sharing experiences with people is a great way of overcoming barriers, a form of meditation and to be in a better head space to tackle other life issues.

Why is supporting men’s mental health important to you?

As a man, I can see there is a lot of stigma around what we should or shouldn't be doing. I believe sports and outdoors have the power to focus your energy into something good and greater, helping in other aspects of life. Especially when done with other people!

Upcoming events or competitions:

- Mendip Marauder 50 Miler - Running

- Cotswolds 200 - Cycling (off road)

- Portland Pig Backyard Ultra - running 4 miles on the hour, every hour, until last person is standing

- Running from Bristol to Madrid, self supported, pulling a trailer with all my kit

What are the achievement in sports that you are most proud of:

- winning Ultraman UK, breaking the course record

- cycling from London-Madrid in 56hours, off road, self supported, in one sitting.

- completing the Paddy Buckley in Wales. Running 116km with 8000m+ of elevetation through Snowdonia.

What do you like about the Rise & Roam brand & clothing?

The message that sends out to people, the force behind. The fact that it shows we are all normal people doing things, empowering others to join.

If you could design your own Rise & Roam product, what would it be?

Definitely a funky shirt to be able to use while running or cycling... sports gear is very boring, it needs more funk to it!

Go‑to quote or mantra:

Life is simple, but it's not easy

🌱 What excites you most about the future of Rise & Roam?

To do as much as it's in my hands to help others to enjoy the beauty of being outdoors doing fun things

One fun fact about you:

I had to ask my wife for this one...her response: I know many Disney songs lyrics and like to sing them...in Spanish!

🫶 Together, we rise. Together, we roam.
